It’s finally here, the new canvas I’ve waited for so long already. Well… it has been one week since the canvas arrived but I just happened to be able to write about it now. You know, because it’s stunningly beautiful and I can’t put my thought into writing because it’s still just too much to process even for me, myself. Here’s the funny thing about it, I’ve been waiting for this canvas for 3 years already and it just happened to arrive these days. I keep calling the delivery service throughout the 3 years demanding an explanation about why it hasn’t arrived yet and at one time, the one on the other line says,
“I know that you’re tired of waiting. And you may have to wait a little while more, but she’s on her way. And she’s getting here as fast as she can.”
and believe it or not, that’s what makes me stay patient waiting all these years. And the first glance I took on it is worth the wait. I don’t know how to react at first, excitement, tears, joy, and many other emotions overwhelmed me.
It’s not your usual blank canvas, it has some dent on it, some drawings that have been tried to be removed, and so many little stuff, but I’m seeing the big picture here, it’s not that bad, even more, I think it’s really good, I can start up from what is left behind, improving it as much as possible to make it even more beautiful.
The first thing I do after a long stare at the canvas is calling a friend of mine. I know this is a big thing, I can’t do this alone. I said that to myself a lot of times.
From the first ring, she answered right away. “Hello”, said the person in the other end. And I start explaining to her about this huge canvas. After my long explanation, she said, “but, I have another project ongoing, and you also have another project to do as well aren’t you?”
“We can just think of it as an escape from the real project we are doing, it doesn’t need to be for long, but I need you right now, the other project is the future-me problem.”
and after a lot of thinking, even with a lot of hurdles along the way, she responded with the most beautiful answer I can think of, “Alright, I’m in.”
